"A confession, a trial, and a self‑execution — all in just over three minutes." “Nothing Right” is a raw, confessional interrogation: a speaker pacing the ruins of a life, alternately pleading for absolution and accusing themselves of irredeemable crime. The lyric moves between everyday idioms and stark moral images — “hit the nail on the head” beside “why I’m a murderer” — so that ordinary failure and existential culpability become interchangeable. It’s simultaneously a catalogue of regrets, a philosophical demand for meaning (life, forgiveness, death), and a dramatization of self-judgment that reads like a modern-day lament stitched to the lineage of Biblical confession, tragic literature and existential novels. "Nothing Right" is track #2 and the second single from our album "The Scapegoat's Agony" (1995) as well as track #2 from our compilation "The Scapegoat's Agony (Edits, Odds & Ends)". The compilation edit is shorter than the album/single version. The album title is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the - for the most part - painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.
